Depends on your definition of "correct"! I say put an Arvinode system on it anyway.

You will not be disappointed in the Arvinode if you go with it. Jack

i wonder what the penalty points wise I would experience with the Arvinode, I am seriously considering it. If I have a stock H-pipe, does the Arvinode begin there and what is the cost for the system?

I can't answer about the points but the system does connect to the stock HIPO H-pipe and includes everything from there on back. Jack

If you're talking about MCA concours judging, the complete exhaust is worth 8 points. I'd probably suggest a 2-4 point deduction for an Arvin system. Remember that the rear resonator sections are the same as a regular dual exhaust (later GT style.)

Will the GT exhaust tips be compatible with the Arvinode system? Did the Arvinode originally connect to the tips at all? Or did they just dump out under the trunk? If the tips are compatible with the Arvinode, I am very tempted to install, as the mufflers on my car are incorrect , as are probably most if not all 35 year old hipo's.

You can do the GT tips. There is a Youtube video of a car with the Arvin/tips combo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WT-zaAHz1I

I have the GT style trumpets on my car (not a GT but I like the look) and went with the larger 2" tips and had to have the rear piece re-bent to go straight out without any restrictions and it worked out great. Jack

Why put an Arvinode system on a car that was built too late to have come from the factory with it?? I have a July 1965 Dearborn built K and I have what I believe is a GREAT, correct appearing system that was obtained from Motive Industries, and I believe there is anouther company also making a very correct system as well.

Any more info on Motive and what they might offer? I would like hipo sound, and the loud after market units don't sound authentic, just loud....Arvinode sounds great and is authentic hipo sound, tho not for my model, so the Motive source would help..

Dunc, I bought MY Motive system from Laurel Mountain Mustang supply on Ebay-I believe that other Mustang vendors also carry it-you just have to be darn sure that you specify the MOTIVE system and not the cheap generic system-my July 27th 1965 Dearborn built K GT sounds GREAT to me-I'm not running and Flowmasters or anything-just what comes in the Motive kit. Like I say there is anouther company out there (a persons name, but I can't remember it right now-may be some one else can...)that makes the systems that is also of a very high quality. I was warned that Motive did not supply the correct clamps for one location and we had to get them separately but no big deal.

I don't know of anyone that has done dyno tests, but the Arvinode system is the best design for flow.

Of course it does. That is the whole point of the design.

Well....that and the fabulously TUNED sound , the product of a design utilizing LOW back pressure, as in the least back pressure. I may consider that change after the weather turns, now are the days I want to enjoy this great ride. By the way, with the windows rolled up it is quiet, tight, quick and responsive. The GT from America that came from the factory fully decked out and elegant with its black vinyl top on antique bronze. Drive your Kars, I say!!!
