Radio Dilemma

Postby ramrace » Thu Sep 01, 2016 9:01 pm

I have a 1966 Hi-Po coupe with an original AM-8 track. The AM is not working. Do not have a tape to test the 8-track. Does anyone repair this unit? If possible hould I convert it to an AM/FM stereo option?
Would prefer to replace with original AM/FM, but the larger hole in the dash is an issue.
Suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Have you tried googling this ? I've seen several companies websites that repair vintage car radios, 8tracks, etc. but have not had the need to contact any of them .

And if desired, they can change the guts to FM conversion, modern tuners and amplifiers. Some kick panel or maybe hidden speakers........
just two of many:

Thanks for the input. I have decided to send it to "poorfam" an Ebay vendor. Good ratings, quick response to email. $229 to repair.
