Anyone have any good pictures that I can compare. I can't find any tags on the one on my Kar.
Thanks in advance

Except for the servo cover, the Hipo transmission has no exterior differences. Internals are tougher to check, especially the governor. If the paint stripe still exists on the governor the stripe will be white where the standard one is yellow. There should also be a tag on the valve body as it is unique as well.

Yes, it will be visible as it is bolted to the valve body and is not very big.

For 64 and 65 Fairlanes and 66 Mustangs the tag will be a 1U. For 67 Mustangs it will be N3, 2N or 3H. If you come up with another number when you check yours, I can look up what that one actually was for. I wish you luck on this.

Thanks fred. I will take a look after the holidays. I recently dropped the oil pan. Found just a plain Mexican block with 1970 internals no hatchet or rainbow of colors. Cry :x

You did not need to drop the pan to find out that it was a Mexican block as the casting number gives it away. I am sorry for your surprise package.
