TRI-Y HEADERS

Postby 409gary » Mon Apr 03, 2017 12:07 pm

Does anyone have information or experience with the Tri-Y headers being sold by Shelby Parts and Restoration?
Many of the others I researched appear to be cheaply made and there are many reservations about the fit and
and installation.
I am looking for a set of stainless steel headers that will bolt into my bone stock 66 K Code coupe without modifications
to the header, the clutch linkage, or anything else. On the Shelby Parts and Restoration web page for the headers,
there are no reviews of the header listed. I am hoping someone on this forum has had first hand knowledge of these
headers or is familiar with the reputation of the seller.
It is my intention to complete the installation from the headers back, with an H-pipe and the Arvinode system, out
through the GT exhaust openings.

Any advice would would be welcome.

I follow Jim C of Shelby Parts and Restoration pretty closely. I've never heard of anyone being disappointed with his headers. Nor should they be at $1000 a pair.

Jim has an outstanding reputation for honesty. I've been buying parts from him, and selling to him for about 20 years without a single complaint from either of us.

Thanks for the insight. I guess I will take a leap of faith on these things and go ahead with exhaust system project. When I am finished,
I should be able to give a first hand account of how well they fit. I will can him tomorrow to get started.

Could/would you post a sound clip to YouTube? Would love to hear an Arvinode through some tri-y. Or would that be tri-y through Arvinodes?

I spoke with Shelby Parts and Restoration this morning about the headers. I was adivsed that there is a 2 month back-log
on availability. At least I am on the list and can expect the headers in June if all goes well.
