Im looking to improve my 60 ft times next season in the 1/8 mile and thinking of using 65 mustang 6 cyl front springs in my 64.5 K coupe for improved weight transfer, any old school drag racer guys here done that yet , what is the 6 cyl spring wire thickness , thanks. chuck.

Chuck, I cannot help you with how well this will work for you but at least I can give you complete specs on the springs you are seeking.

Ford part number C5ZZ 5310 A

Color code Pink

Load rating 1279 pounds

8 1/2 Coils

Wire diameter .570

Free length 15 1/8 Inches

You might try asking this question on the SAAC forum. Randy Gillis has been drag racing his 66 GT350, 6S477, since the mid-70's. He'll know what spring combos work best...

Are 64.5 mustang 260 non AC coil springs the same specs as 64.5 mustang 289 non AC cars.
