Just finished installing koni classics on my 65 fastback, could not find any torque specs, so on front snugged up tight,an on rear tightened up just before
bushings bulged. :?: Does this sound about right!

The outer washers have a smaller hole that butts up to a step on the mounting thread so you can do them up tight.

If I tighten up to the point of the step down, the bushings are extremely compressed, would that be correct!

Here's a link to torque specs - http://www.engineershandbook.com/Tables/torque.htm I would use this as a "do not exceed" reference for hardware that has a rubber insulator used.
