Chuck, To be safe, I would call Comp Cams and ask them their recommendation. I used a 1970 351 CJ converter in a Hipo convertible that I had where I installed a C6. It seemed to have a sufficient stall that worked with the stock Hipo camshaft. I do not know the specs on the stall speed but it was way above the standard C4 version. I had 3.50 gears. With that camshaft I am sure that you will need a higher stall than what I had.

You also might want to contact a converter manufacturer to get their recommendations.
