This VIN stamped (almost complete) engine is for sale by eBay member "cycling305" for $10,500.00.

DESCRIPTION: "Serious People ONLY!

Up for sale is the real deal Shelby K-code 289 hi-performance engine. I’ve had the engine for a while and decided I would let it go. These are super rare who ever is building a Shelby or vintage racer or K-code mustang this is the engine for you. I bought the engine along with a mustang fastback gt350 hertz edition. This would make your mustang worth double if you have the correct engine in it. Have some extra aluminum fin covers.

Real K code Block number marked has C5AE-6015-E (six-bolt bellhousing), which are more rare, then the five-bolt bellhousing.

Serial number stamped into the right hand side of the block near the battery's negative-cable attachment point.

Has the wider harmonic balancer

Correct K code heads (Hi-Po heads) numbered 19

If you’re interested feel free to message me.

Rare opportunity. Buyer can pickup or ship at their cost. Can help with packing on a pallet.

Thanks for looking."

According to the seller: "Real K code Block number marked has C5AE-6015-E (six-bolt bellhousing), which are more rare, then the five-bolt bellhousing." Wonder where that idea came from?

According to the seller: "Real K code Block number marked has C5AE-6015-E (six-bolt bellhousing), which are more rare, then the five-bolt bellhousing." Wonder where that idea came from?

This engine received no bids by December 8, 2016 and therefore did NOT sell.

HERE'S an engine for sale by eBay member " vintoy ".

"65 engine apart. I bought this in early 70's. Put it in my 66 fastback around 1978. Drove it maybe 50 miles total. Someone offered me 80 bucks for the 9 inch So I pulled the axle. Engine set in my car all these years and set up. Motor is apart. I have pics of everything. Best we can figure is early in motors life it blew up
Block has no mumbers. I will have the hipo heads magnafluxed and fresh valve job for winning bidder. Included in price.
I may be able to crate these parts and take to freight terminal. Shopping will be at buyers expense. Please dont ask me for a shipping qoute.

I posted a few more pics. You can see one cylinder has the crud. I think that is what keeps engine from spinning over. I think it would free up with a bit of soaking and fiddling. This motor ran good. Sounded really good. Pistons are trw 12 1/2 to one i think.

200 paypal and balance in cash when engine is picked up. Please feel free to ask questions. "

Based on the block casting of August 7, 1965 and the assembly date of August 8, 1965, I would say that this would be a 1966 year model engine. It is interesting that the casting dates and assembly dates are only one day apart. The engine assembler must have needed asbestos gloves as the casting would almost still be hot. ;) Based on the picture of the machined flat area to the right of the timing cover, it is certainly possible that the seller does not know where the VIN would actually be stamped. It would appear to me that the seller believes that machined surface is where the VIN would be stamped.

I didn't look at the assembly date close enough to see what it is...Pretty amazing that the block and assembly would be that close.

Joseph, the owner of this engine, wants $12,500 for this very original motor. I had the seller confirm the original 4201S fuel pump, original carburetor, original manifolds etc. All check out.

The engine is vin stamped but Joseph won't share that info over the phone. He has owned the engine for about 6-7 yrs. I want that fuel pump for my 1966 kar. Grrr...
Currently: 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback, K-code, HiPo, GT-350 Clone, Signal flare Red, black interior
Formerly: 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe, A-code, Wimbledon White, red interior
