k-code clutch disc and pressure plate NOS

Postby 66acpgt » Sun May 26, 2013 10:47 am

I recently came across a guy selling a lot of NOS k-code mustang parts and shelby parts. I picked up two C7ZZ-7563-B pressure plates, also picked up two clutch discs part number C7ZZ-7550-B, and one C20Z-7563-B pressure plate. I know that these parts are for 65-67 k-mustang, and 69-70 boss 302.
I am having trouble valuing this stuff, as I cannot find it for sale online. Also, does anyone have information on the C20Z-7563-B pressure plate? It is 10.4 in size. I am thinking it may be an earlier part number.
All the parts are still in the original boxes.
Any help would be appreciated.

The C2OZ pressure plate predates the early Hipo C3OZ pressure plate. Although it is of equal dimension, the springs and possibly the actual plate are not the same.

Hi the colour of the springs of the clutch plate is about the strength of the springs , I know this worked for a clutch company for many years. so my clutch knowledge is quiet good

DESCRIPTION

"NOS Ford 289 Hi-Po clutch disc & pressure plate Shelby GT350. Here is a clutch disc and pressure plate that have been sitting on the shelf for decades. These are original 289 Hi-Po clutch components that were re-manufactured by Ford 40 year ago. The pressure plate assembly has a Ford part number of C7ZZ-7563-B and the clutch disc has a part number of C7ZZ-7550-B . Both of these are with the original box with the correct part number on them. This clutch setup was used on the 289 Hi-Po engines that were used in all 289 HP cars including GT350 Shelby and I believe it was also used on Boss 302’s. As you can see it has been sitting on the shelf for years and needs to be cleaned up and the pressure plate could stand to be lightly resurfaced. Original parts that are no longer available if you want the absolutely correct period part for your car. Winner pays actual UPS shipping charges. Will accept all forms of payment. Good luck bidding!

On Feb-07-14 at 17:56:57 PST, seller added the following information:

The clutch disc and pressure plate are both 10.5 " in diameter."

Gents,
During disassembly we noticed my clutch pressure plate friction surface has heat damage. Does anybody rebuild the clutch pressure plate or have parts so I can do it myself?

I did verify my flywheel is a C3OE-6380-B original. Not sure how to tell if my clutch pressure plate is original to my K-code but I did verify the 9 springs on the pressure plate and 8 springs on the disc.

There is a letter "J" stamped into the surface of my clutch pressure plate cover, if that helps.

Thanks,

Formerly: 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe, A-code, Wimbledon White, red interior

Evan, the number on your flywheel is the same for Hipo and standard flywheels. What you need to see is a ground area on the counterweight on the back side of the flywheel with a Brinnel test mark in the ground area. The Brinnel test mark will look like an indentation made by a BB gun.

If you look at the pictures of the pressure plate in the pictures above you will notice that there are no counterweights on the release arms. This is correct for a Hipo as the standard pressure plates have external counterweights on those arms.

Also the friction surface of a Hipo pressure plate will have what appears to be 3 indentations in the surface.
