This one ended with no sale and no bids. I guess the minimum bid of $1,350.00 had something to do with it.

These mounts were NOT SOLD because the high bid of $617.77 did not meet the seller's reserve.

Here's a mostly complete set of used motor mounts for sale by eBay member "mustangmasters428". (Insulator appears to be the early Fairlane design)

DESCRIPTION: "Here we have a pair of Ford factory original Motor Mounts with 1 Center Bracket and a pair of C4ZR Frame mounts, one of which is NOS, for a 65-6 Mustang equipped with a HiPo 289 motor. All the parts supplied in this auction are original Ford pieces. We've cleaned, detailed, and inspected this set, and we see no signs of welds or repairs, and nice insulators.

Unlike standard 289 motor mount sets, these frame mounts are engineered with a better design to accept the extra torque of a 289 HiPo, the second part of this assembly being a high-performance motor mount, which was bolted to the block to avoid tears and ripping away at the insulator, which was common with standard 289's, since they glued their rubber mount to a frame bracket to fasten the motor to the body.

Note that these mounts are necessary to install 289 HiPo motors into cars such as the Shelby GT350, K Codes, and Mustangs equipped with the 289 HiPo motor combination. Unfortunately, this mount setup is lacking 1 of the block plates, so bid accordingly to complete the set.

Whether putting that high-powered HiPo Pony back together after an engine restoration, or just replacing your worn and tattered motor mounts, this set is just the ticket - Original Ford Parts, Ford Quality, and race-proven Ford Engineering!"

Note that the side with the Fairlane insulator also has the early short bolt pattern plate that bolts to the block. This will not fit our Hipo engines.

Here's a set of almost complete mounts for sale by eBay member "bandeliermc". (These appear to be the early Fairlane style setup.)

DESCRIPTION: "I recently purchased an old 65 Mustang Fastback that had been a drag car 30+ years ago. Among the many parts were a pair of 1965 289 HiPo engine mounts. Unfortunately, one of the engine mounts is missing the metal bracket that bolts to the engine block. Overall they are in nice condition for 47 year old engine mounts. The round discs do not have any cracking or deforming. One of the big trapazoid rubber mounts does show some dry cracking and the other one is very nice. All of the bare metal parts have light surface rust. No heavy pitting or flaking on them. Considering the drag racing history of this car and some of the other parts with it (66 Shelby 1/4 windows) these mounts are probably over-the-counter replacements. The Fastback is a humble C-code car and not a HiPo, thus it doesn't need these unique mounts in my opinion. The owner at the time, mid to late 1970's, was going to restore the car - which means the car was simply disassembled and abandoned. I am going to return the car to original condition with its 289 and 4spd. I am also considering selling the 9" rear end out from under the car if someone is needing one."

I spoke with the seller this morning and he ended the auction as he already had a couple of emails letting him know that these are actually Fairlane and not Mustang mounts.

Here's another set of early Fairlane style mounts for sale by eBay member "gt350jack".

DESCRIPTION: "You are bidding on a pair of motor mounts. They are the left and right mounts. These particular mounts originally came in Comets and Fairlanes with the 289 High Performance engine option. They were also used in 289 Cobras, but the plate to attach to the frame was unique to the Cobra. The frame plates on this pair of mounts will fit the Fairlane / Comet configuration. They are the unbreakable mounts with the pyramid rubber pad. They are in good condition, but I did not bead clean and paint them. I wanted them to be seen exactly as how they came out of the car. No, before you ask, I do not have any other hipo parts at this time. :) These mounts have the wide block pattern that will fit most 260, 289 & 351 configurations. They will not fit the very early 260 and 221 engines. These mounts will not fit the 64-66 Mustang applications without the large cast frame mount. Again, they are for the Comet, Fairland and 289 Cobra (using a unique frame plate). The final selling price will include freight to the 48 States. Good Luck!"

This mount sold for $55.00.

The only parts that are correct for a Mustang application is the upper round insulator with the nut and washer The upper metal part is for the short mount bolt pattern early blocks that Hipo Mustangs did not use. The lower parts are Fairlane only including the bolt.

The listing ended and the motor mounts were NOT SOLD.

Here's a mostly complete set of used motor mounts for sale by eBay member "mustangmasters428". (Insulator appears to be the early Fairlane design)
