Here's yet another remanufactured "FoMoCo" dual point distributor that was SOLD for $199.95 by eBay member "theblue302". Note the "generic" housing with the provision for the vacuum advance connection. Great for a "driver", but definitely not for a Concours restoration.

DESCRIPTION: "You are bidding on a remanufactured service replacement Ford dual point distributor. Correct for the Mustang or Fairlane 289 HiPo from 1964 1/2 to 1968. Will also work in stock 302 and Boss 302 engines. I Purchased a few of these from a Ford dealer at the All Ford Nationals. Comes complete, totally freshly restored, as in pictures. Correct early FoMoCo housing, part number on metal tag attached to FoMoCo housing: C5OF-12127-E."

SixT5HiPo wrote:Here's a (polished?) dual point distributor for sale by eBay member "mustangmasters428" with a starting bid of $495.00.

DESCRIPTION: "Here we have a good used FoMoCo Dual Point Distributor for a 289 High Performance engine, commonly used in Mustangs, Fairlanes, and Cyclones. Standard distributors were equipped with a vacuum advance pod on the side, unlike these high performance units, which offered no vacuum advance.

This original distributor has no extra holes modifications and is in good used working condition. The lobes are crisp to snap both sets of points open as originally designed. No excessive play in the shaft, this unit has no visible signs of gouges, welds, or repairs. This piece can be used as is, but would certainly be a perfect candidate for the GT 350 or K code classic restoration.

It also has a good condition rubber ring on the shaft that is expected to seal tightly without need for replacement and the points and condenser are in excellent condition. This unit has the factory part number of C5OF-12127-E which was for the 65 66 and 67 years, Email for date, please check your date application if you are a show car owner or better.

A great distributor for the daily driver or better, if you own a HiPo equipped Mustang, Fairlane, or Thunderbird this is your distributor! If by chance you are building that HiPo 289 Mustang don't let this auction pass you by!"

Here's a late (1967) distributor for sale by eBay member "glenng2".

DESCRIPTION: "This is an especially good pick if you are doing a concourse restoration and are looking for a distributor for your 1967 or 1968 GT Mustang or Shelby since this would be factory correct for these years.
Original Ford Hipo dual point distriputors are getting harder to find. This is a factory Ford dual point distributor for a 64, 65, 66, 67, or 68 Mustang or Shelby small block V-8. If you look on the top close-up view of the distributor, you will see the date code 7D6 (see picture), which sets the manufacture date in 1967. Also, on the top of this distributor is part number C50F-1217-E. I thought I was going to use this distributor in my 1965 Mustang, but for concours restorations the date code matches a 1967-1968 Shelby or Hipo Mustang. Other things noticeable on this distributor is a Remanufactured Ford Parts sticker stamped RM-2, and a part number on the distributor body C50F-12131-B. The distributor pigtail for your coil connection appears to have been spliced. The distributor gear on the bottom of the distributor shaft is in excellent condition."

Considering the high starting bid, the "over polished" body, and the strange wiring harness attached, is anyone surprised it still didn't sell?
