Hi Fred,
This fan blade must be from a 66 Mustang as it's dated too late for a 65, correct?
My friend owns a 66 Shelby (6S923) which was produced in san Jose in Jan 66 and it's original
fan is dated J65.

Texas Swede,

Good eye on the fact that this is not really for a 65 but for a 66. I was not paying attention to the year but only that it was a correct original part. I would agree that your friends January 66 Shelby would most likely be correct with this fan.

Pretty impressive looking auction from a professional listing service that represents the owner of this part. The "watermarked" photos are more than enough to show the important details. I wonder how much commission they get (besides the eBay fee) if it sells???

Amazingly this makes two fans with the same date codes on Ebay at the same time.

I noticed that, and almost thought it might be the same item! I'm thinking there may not be a large amount of different date codes on these fans, so maybe it's not that unusual. They were probably produced in fairly large "batches" for the limited production K code cars they were installed on. It's still a kool coincidence to see two of these on eBay at the same time. It's interesting that the one with the higher starting price has some minor scuffs on the blade, and the other one is flawless.

:!: I just removed the original fan, radiator & shround from my FB. I guess I'll wrap them up a bit better for storage! I had no idea they were worth this much! The rad still has the C4 part # and the shroud still has the stapled bumper on it! The car only has 58K and is still all there!

Don't forget about your carburetor and fuel pump as they are worth a lot as well. :)

Here's a used 4 blade fan with spacer for sale with NO reserve by eBay member "jollyroge".

DESCRIPTION: "Original Ford 289 Hi Po fan and spacer 65 66 Shelby GT350 Mustang. Here is a nice original 289 Hi-Po fan. This is correct for anything that came with a 289 Hi-Po engine from 1963 to 1966. This fan is especially correct for 1965-66 Shelby GT350’s. It has the FoMoCo logo on it with the original MFG’s part number of 911960 along with a 1965 date code. The repro fans do not have most of these numbers and therefore are very detectable from an original. This fan is in nice condition with no bent blades or repairs. It also has the correct hard to find fan spacer. Another must have part for that original car that is getting very hard to find. Winner pays actual UPS shipping cost. Good luck bidding!"

Another thing I just noticed on the black painted fan above. It has the number and date code stamped on the backside
of not only one of the blades but according to the seller on all of them. Never seen that before, only on the front side of one blade.
