This design is for the 1966 model year only and it began around October of 1965. 1966 model cars prior to that used the different 1965 style.

It's been a while since we've seen one of these for sale on eBay...THIS one is for sale by member "jollyroge" and has a starting bid of $0.99.

"Original 65 Shelby GT350 Mustang K code 289 Hi-Po 9” Ford rear end snubber. Here is an original pinion snubber for 1965 289 Hi –Po or K code Mustang . These are unique to 1965 only 289 Hi-Po 9” Ford rear ends. It bolts onto the pinion support of the rear end removable center section. The Ford part number for this unit would be C5ZZ-4298-A . It is the proper shallow measurement of 2.5” as compared to the later 3.5” deep pinion snubbers that came on later cars. This snubber is correct for all 1965 K code Mustangs and 1965 GT350 Shelby Mustangs including the 65 ½ carry over or left over cars. This snubber is heavily pitted but can be filled and painted to look perfect . I believe the rubber bumper is a slightly later replacement that looks similar. Perfect repros of the rubber are available. This was removed from a 65 Shelby some time ago. Very hard to find one of these 1965 only snubbers. No reproduction has ever been made of this so an original is you’re your only hope to find one. Winner pays actual shipping charges. Will accept all forms of payment. Good luck bidding !"

This is actually incorrect for a 67 model which would be our only interest on this forum. This is the fault of the seller as far as the error.

This bracket is actually incorrect based on the shape of the bracket where it attaches to the third member casting. It should be round and not with a chunk out of it. The holes for the bumper attachment are also in the wrong position fore and aft.
