Some years ago, I bought two boxes of BF32s with the Star at Carlisle. They were in a big cardboard box dated 1965.
Paid $50 per box of ten and still have a complete set and the others are in my car.
Difficult to find nowadays and obviously very expensive if you do.

Here's a set of Autolite BF-32 spark plugs for sale by eBay member "musclecarsltd " with a set price of $249.00. (This is NOT a typo...These appear to be later plugs. Move the decimal point one place to the left, and maybe they will sell.)

DESCRIPTION: "1965, 1966 Correct Shelby GT 350 or Mustang K Code NOS Autolite BF-32 Spark Plug Set Ford Part Number COAZ12405A. Autolite Part Number BF-32."

Anyone ever had any trouble running these old/nos type plugs in their engine?

I ran some NOS BF-32's in my car for years. It ran the same as when using the Autolite 45's I currently have installed.

I run old BF-32's in both my 65 and 67 Shelbys with HiPo 289's and never had any issues.

The BF32 plugs are what are listed by Ford originally for our Hipo 289 engines. They are one heat range colder than the Autolite 45 plugs that ZRAY is currently running. Our Hipo 289 engines were intended for heavy duty service and the colder plugs are better for that. The advantage to the hotter Autolite 45 plugs is that there is less chance of fouling in normal street driving.

I've run both the 32 and the 42's over the years. The 32's seem to handle near redline RPM's a little better, but the 42's are a good choice for just "normal" driving as Fred said. Either way, these are the best plugs to use in the K code 289's.

So as not to confuse the issue on these plugs, I present the following:

The Autolite 45 plugs that ZRAY mentions are a replacement plug currently available and they are produced by Allied Automotive. They are actually a direct replacement for a Ford Autolite BRF 42 which is one heat range hotter than the original BF32 and it is also a resistor plug. The 45 number on the Allied plugs is not really coded the same as the BF32 and BF42 on the Ford Autolite plugs. Leaving off the BF in the number can be confusing in discussions about spark plugs.

All this talk about BF32 plugs prompted me to check my supply. I have 4 boxes of 8 plugs each. They are "Motorcraft" and "Ford". They were on clearance and I paid $2.50 per box at Target. :)

Hi Fred et al,

Hope I didn't introduce a wild card by mentioning the Autolite 45's I'm using. I know they are not the same exact range as the BF-32's and that they are more-or-less one heat range hotter than the BF-32's. I'm not touting them as better than the BF-32's or anything like that. They just work for me, & even though TX is a pretty hot climate, I haven't had any issues running a slightly hotter plug. They might be the a good choice for those in cooler regions as well. I was using Autolite APP-45's, a double platinum plug until the good folks at MSD customer service advised me that platinum plugs "might" put undue stress on their ignition components. Sounded like a bunch of malarkey to me, but I quit using them anyway.

I do have a couple of sets of BF-32's (non star, darn it) but am saving them, for what I don't know.

I ran BF32's for years and years, and finally got tired of cleaning fouled plugs. I switched to BF42's a couple years ago and no problems since. If you are just 'driving' the car, the hotter plug is a better choice.
