Yes, exactly, "word play"... not really liking the black standard interior with the wood grain wheel, Not really digging the "over stickering" of the engine bay as well as his heater hose routing, one between the valve cover and carb and one on the outside of the valve cover and zipped tied to the wires. Those things alone would make me question how well and true this car was done. I mean all those things can easily be fixed, but what else is lurking like that. Also mentions upgraded with GT options, so it's not a factory GT???

In regards to the wood grain steering wheel, it was a stand alone option without having to get the luxury décor group (pony interior).

Yes, that is true, it's just a personal opinion of mine with the standard black interior. I think it looks good with other colored interior, but the black interior it just always looked off to me without changing out the glove box and instrument panel bezels as well to the wood grain.

Does anyone know if this car was sold and if so what was the final number?

I don't think it sold. I just received an email from them for dealing with post auction sales and this car was shown, along with about a dozen others. I'm ass-uming, because
it wasn't that clear, that this car was part of the post auction sales. Clicking on the car brought up a reply to the email, going to their consignment team. They've got
a lousy website.

I just received a reply email from Russo and Steele that the car is still available in the $110,000 area. I guess that the one of one statement must really have the seller convinced of some special value.

Sorry, I almost choked on that one!

Going out on a limb here but I guess it will be "still available" at the price for a looooooooong time to come.

I read the listing, I missed the part where it is explained how it is 1 of 1 as the headline states, and don't know how they could prove it.
Of course, mine is 1 of 1 too if you break it down to the VIN.

It's one of one that they did in this color with reproduction parts to sell for a ridiculous price.

paintref.com shows Sapphire Blue as code G, T-Bird and Mustang, Mustang foot note Shelby only. So the color was available. And it is a pretty car, and nicer than mine. But I'm not trying to get 100k, or any number of k at this time. So, could it be the only non Shelby that rolled out that color? The one change I would make to the car is the toss the shifter knob, go with the ball.

1 of 1 is a stretch. There are plenty of examples of this color on Mustangs.
The claim is based solely off of the special paint code.
As someone wiser than me once shared "If they can't prove it, they can't profit!"

If their 1 of 1 claim is based solely on the paint, then they need to revise it to at least a "1 of 2" as my 1966 K code fastback was special ordered in Sapphire Blue as well.

Here's a picture for anyone interested. My car was built at SJ just like the one in question on this thread but has an earlier VIN and as such an earlier special order number (1192).

Interesting to find that a car with this same vin was for sale in Oregon in 1992. At that time it was painted as a Shelby. Coincidently, the SAAC convention was also held in Portland that same year.
As chance would have it, I was sent this video over the weekend: https://www.youtube.com/user/MustangConnection1
This is the same car in the auction and if you go to the 6:17 mark of the video you will see a photo of this same car
wearing white and blue stripes. :|

Just sayin'

This car with same vin number is for sale a Las Vegas 2017 Mecum auction. I have verified it does not have the original block or the original transmission. The transmission vin is 6R07K151783. Still waiting on block vin. According to my records, Fred owned this transmission at some point in the past. :)

I was planning to attend the Mecum auction and bid on this kar until I read that the reserve was $110K. Unreal!

JP,
How do you know this kar was for sale in Oregon in 1992? I'm curious to have that information. I also followed your youtube link and went to 6:17 mark in the video and do not see this kar.

Thanks,
Evan

In the video, the car can be seen wearing white and blue as the person is flipping through the photo album at the 6:16-6:17 mark.

Can you post the link again, JP? I think the video may have changed from the original link you posted.
