Errant K-Code Registry Submissions

Sometimes when folks submit their car into the registry, they will unintentionally enter incorrect information. Most common mistakes are forgetting to change the plant code or entering a wrong date code or unit number. Either of these would cause the car to be out of sequence with existing entries in the registry.

When this happens you will receive an email asking for a photo of the data plate from the door (we'll take a picture of the buck tag too if you have one) to verify the submission. It is possible a car was actually produced as indicated by the submission, we would just like to have a picture of the data plate to confirm.

Another issue is a missing data plate but folks enter partial data based on the current status of the car. That is acceptable, but we may ask for a picture of either the fender VIN stamping or the title for confirmation.

These steps help maintain the integrity of the registry by having documentation on cars that don't follow the normal sequence or when partial data is provided.

Figured I would post this so folks aren't surprised if/when they receive an email asking for a picture.

Another issue.

When registering your car, a confirmation email will be sent requiring you to click on the link to complete the registration. If you do not receive after a few days, please check any email filters to ensure it didn't get missed. We'll usually send a couple of reminders. We may also attempt to call the phone number provided to complete the process. If determined both the email and phone number are invalid, the car will be deleted from the registry.
