Problem with forum?

Postby evantugby » Sat Jul 22, 2017 8:56 am

I just noticed that I have many messages sitting in my "outbox" instead of my "sent message" folder. Why are my pm's sitting in my outbox instead of being sent? How do I clear them and get them fired off?

Fred,
I just tried to pm you but again it goes to my outbox instead of sent items folder.

Any help, gents?

Eventually? I have messages in my outbox all the way back to May 27! Yeah, I guess I should be more patient like you old timers. ;)

This site needs infused with modern technology and an update to it's platform.

So I have 10 pm's to other forum members sit in my outbox and won't get delivered to recipients, dating back to 27 May.

Trying to figure out a fix I decide to email forum members instead of using pm and everytime I use the email option I get this error:

fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:\Hosting\2653654\html\hpmx\includes\error_collector.php on line 38

I guess I am slowly discovering why this website seems like a ghost town.

Fred/Zray--do you gents have the power/influence to make positive changes/updates to this website?

I have no influence anywhere, but that strategy is working out pretty good so far.

I would need to login as you to see the problem. You can email me and I can try to fix this for you. I dislike any PM system where an email is an available option. I try not to use PMs on any forum as they tend to be a pain in the neck for me.

PM sent to you, Fred, I hope you receive it because many of my other messages will not clear from my outbox.

I want to state for the record that I've never had a PM languish in my out box for more than a year.

I wish you could see a screenshot of my outbox. Not sure what is going on but one other person messaged they are having an issue too. Some of my messages do push to the recipient but others will not. Perhaps it has something to do with the recipients inbox being full to where they cannot accept any more messages until they are cleared out.

My best guess is that if the recipient doesn't read your message, then it will sit in your outbox until they open it.

If I'm sent a PM, I also receive an email that notifies me there is a message that is in my PM inbox.

Gents,
That is in fact what is going on. So all of the messages I've sent to other members over the last many months have not opened these messages yet so they still show in my outbox

Thanks for helping me figure this out.
