Here's a picture of it at its first show last weekend after a 2 year restoration. It fell off a floor jack, caught the fuel pump canister and broke the timing cover.

Wow...what a shame! I hope the repairs go smoothly.

Looked like standard main caps to me also but I wanted to confirm. Do the rod bolts look correct? I also don't see the hatchet counterweight. The heads do have the number 21 on each one.

When he puts this back together, a screw together fuel pump would be in order as the crimp together type is incorrect.

The generator pulley is not a Hipo version which looks much different and, of course, larger in diameter.

Sorry can't help on the details of putting your car back correctly and sorry for your mishap. The important question (at least to me) is what's your secret to posting pictures on this site? Numerous people have had problems (me included) posting them.

I use photobucket.com
I upload my image to their "editor". I then hit "resize" and make sure that neither dimension is larger than 750 (even though this site says it will take up to 800). If my image is 800 wide (or tall) I adjust to 750 and it will automatically adjust the height smaller(or vice versa). Adjust whichever dimension is larger on your original image down to 750. After that hit "save". It will then give you 4 choices to share. I copy the one titled "IMG" and paste it into my text on this site. Don't use any of the drop downs - just make it part of your text. Hit preview first to make sure it's there and then enter. The picture will be in your post. Photobucket is free. Practice, practice, practice. PM me if you need more info.
BTW, This Fairlane belongs to a friend of mine, Jeep Compton. Not mine. LOL, I didn't drop it off the jack. He blamed it on being a Ford. His last 4 restorations were all Chevy's.

Sorry for the hijack but when I saw that you said "photobucket is free", I thought 'no way'! So just now, I went back to photobucket and was able to sign in AND
access all my pics! Wow! Couldn't do that several months ago during the $399 fiasco.

For what it's "worth" years ago I used a "free" hosting site for all my HiPo photos. I had hundreds and hundreds, many of which were posted on the old site...One day the free photo site went dark, and thousands and thousands of others just like me lost everything. Many of them paid each month to add mega mega extra space. Come to think, the old site also went dark, and all the great photos that were there are also gone. Gotta love the Interweb!
