Camshaft thrust plate

Postby cobraboy » Thu Oct 26, 2017 12:32 am

Hi Guys
What thickness of camshaft thrust plate do I need ?
I know there are two thicknesses, I have one at 0.216" and 0.252" are available over here.
Also I have a block with an open oil way next to the thrust plate, so do I get a thrust plate with an 'ear' on it to cover the hole, or do I put a grub screw in the hole ?

Many thanks

Mark

Mark, as long as you are using a camshaft sprocket with a built in spacer, I have one that is 0.252" that I use on my Kars. It does have the "ear" on it to cover the hole for lubricating the back side of the thrust plate to the camshaft.

Fred thank you, that is what I needed to know.
I can get the thicker plate with an 'ear' over here.

Keep well and enjoy your cars.
